Real people, real photos.
No two people are alike - every one is beautifully unique! With a mix of loosely directed poses and a documentary-style approach to the moments in between, my aim is to capture the true you. Not into smiling? Not a problem.
For what it's worth.
Mini-sessions beginning at $250.
Your time, my talent - a match made in heaven. Free bonus: an hour of my bad jokes and dry humor.
Flexible, creative, patient and affordable.
"My experience with Katie was outstanding! Katie is very flexible, creative, patient and affordable. She was willing to schedule both location and time according to our schedule, worked beautifully with our 3 year old granddaughter and delivered gorgeous proofs the very next day. I highly recommend this photographer!"
I had been apprehensive...
"I had my senior pictures taken by Katie, and I couldn't recommend the experience more. I had been apprehensive about the whole process, but Katie made me feel very comfortable and I had a great time. The pictures came out beautifully. There were so many excellent shots to choose from. I feel like they really captured me and I'm excited to have such a wonderful way to remember my last year of high school! I definitely suggest getting any photography you need done here."
The best I've looked in professional portraits.
Katie was amazing to work with for my portrait session. Her ability to explain how to position your body to get the most flattering portrait was phenomenal and I honestly had a lot of fun working with her! Her eye for detail and the check-ins to make sure I was happy with the pictures before moving on to the next pose or outfit made the session go especially smoothly. I can honestly say this is the best I've looked in professional portraits and thanks to her gentle and teasing reminders about using my "real smile" I look really genuine in them as well! Thank you Katie, it was a pleasure to work with you!

Two weekends ago, I had the distinct pleasure of capturing one of my favorite Midland families, in one of Midland's most beautiful locations. Following these three around Dow Gardens made for some bright family photos full of love, laughter, and blossoms!
Hailey and Quinn must have a sixth sense, because I scouted some hella-bright backgrounds for their mini-session and they showed up rocking light colored outfits that popped perfectly against downtown's buildings. These just might be some of my favorite couple shots to date! Shout out to Main Street for the awesome colors.
Emma and Roger met up with me on a warm spring afternoon for a short and sweet mini-session! These two met fall of freshman year in college in algebra class, and are tying the knot this coming June.
Any older sibling will understand what I am saying when I tell you that my kid sister will forever be 17 in my mind - except that she's now 22, and ready to graduate this coming spring! After working her booty off for the past few years, she's ready to walk across the stage at New Mexico State University as the umpteenth Grandle to graduate from that fine school (minus yours truly). We snuck in a quick portrait session for her while I was home for the holidays, taken around campus on a frigid morning, including at her beloved Delta Zeta sorority house. Congrats on your graduation-to-be Emily!
This year has been a year of many changes, and I want to thank everyone for all of your support! From growing our family to launching a business, I couldn't have done any of it without you guys. As a photographer, I have grown in leaps and bounds this year and I wanted to share my most memorable moments and favorite snaps from the past 365 days.
Laura and her two boys are about as photogenic as they come! It was such a pleasure to snap a quick session of them playing in the leaves. The littlest took a while to warm up to the camera, but just look at those big blue eyes! The oldest was quite the camera pro, with smiles for days. I am so glad we caught the leaves before they turned brown and blew away!
Megan and her adorable son Joseph met up with me to catch a few quick shots with this year's gorgeous fall colors. Joseph was quite the trooper, bearing through the crisp weather! I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
Hannah and I walked the back trails of the Grand Traverse Commons with her books and her bike (Sheila), and had a great conversation all the while. Unlike many of her classmates, Hannah wanted nothing to do with water or lakes, and instead chose her favorite local spot for her senior session!
Spending an evening with Ava was like chasing a fairy around the gardens! She was so energetic, and loves her Michigan family. This multi-generational family session was a joy to capture!
